Dates for Your Diary 2025

TUESDAY 29TH APRIL 7:00pm – GRH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

All residents of Holly Walk, River View and Gentleman’s Row are invited to attend the AGM of the GRH.  There will be reports about last year’s activities, a local talk, the Treasurer’s report and all ‘questions from the floor’ will be answered.  There may even be a glass or two of wine taken!

The meeting generally lasts around an hour and, as before, will be held at Jubilee Hall, the home of The Enfield Society at 2 Parsonage Lane off Chase Side.

SUNDAY 4TH MAY – TENNIS COURT OPEN DAY.  1:00 to 4:00PM

Thanks to the generosity of Adrian & Anne at Little Park, the GRH tennis season begins today.  Everyone is invited to come along to see and use the wonderful amenity we have on our doorstep.  Today will be an excuse to play a little casual tennis and drink a little wine.  Racquets will be provided (or bring your own)

From today until late September the court is available for residents and GRH members to use. Bookings are £5 per hour and can be made by clicking on this link: Tennis

SUNDAY 18TH MAY – HANGING BASKETS

GRH Hanging Baskets should be going up on the lamp posts today.  Please let us know if you are able to be part of the watering rota.  It takes about half an hour in the morning or evening throughout the summer. Even doing a day or two would be a great help.

SUNDAY 1ST JUNE – COMMUNITY TREASURE HUNT

Intended for groups or individuals of any age! After the success of last year’s effort, the GRH Treasure Hunt returns.  Join us as we go on the hunt for the GRH treasure chest.  All you have to do is follow a selection of locally based clues.

The hunt starts at 12.30 near The Wedding /Jephcott Bridge.  Just look out for the flags and follow the music!  It’s an excellent and casual way to spend a (hopefully) sunny Sunday afternoon!

SUNDAY 20TH JULY – GRH SUMMER GARDEN PARTY AND PICNIC

The GRH Summer Garden Party and Picnic will  take place in the grounds of Little Park at the end of Gentleman’s Row.  Once again we are hugely grateful to Adrian & Anne for inviting us to use their stunning garden.

As always, there will be musical entertainment, a Morris Man or two, a raffle with great prizes, a bar, children’s table and hopefully great weather! So bring along your picnic for a fun family afternoon.

All residents and friends are welcome and tickets are available now to purchase through our website link: Summer Garden Party

SUNDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER – GRH TENNIS TOURNAMENT

As an end to the summer, GRH is again running a tennis tournament for all those interested in racquets and balls.  The level of ability doesn’t matter and there will be opportunities for all, whatever their age group. Time TBC.

SUNDAY 14TH DECEMBER 6:00pm – TRADITIONAL CAROL SINGING & PRE CHRISTMAS DRINKS

As is now customary, the GRH carol singing will take in The Walk, The View & The Row, stopping in each to sing a carol.  Accompanied by The New River Shanty Crew, we will raise our voices in Christmas song!  Song sheets will be provided.

At 6:30 the singing ends and GRH invites residents and members to partake of a buffet and glass or two in The Cricketers as a thank you for all your support this year.
